Our story
The Romanian Midwives Association (AMșR) brings together dedicated and experienced midwives who are fighting for the development of the midwifery profession and for the recognition of the essential role of midwives in the health of girls, women of all ages, families and young people in Romania. With a clear vision and firm commitment, we strengthen the role of midwives in the health system and promote professionalism, empathy and equal access to quality care.
We are actively involved in protecting women's reproductive health rights and in preventing and combating sexual and gender-based violence, considering these issues fundamental to a healthy society.
We strongly believe in the power of working closely with midwives, obstetrician-gynecologists, family physicians, community health nurses and other health professionals to build an interdisciplinary team capable of providing comprehensive, women-centered care and to respond more effectively and quickly to the diverse needs of vulnerable rural and urban communities.
Misiunea noastră include sprijinirea moașelor prin formare continuă și reprezentare profesională, precum și educarea personalului medical și a publicului cu privire la importanța serviciilor pe care le furnizează moașele.
From caring for pregnant women and mothers through prenatal and postnatal education and services, to promoting reproductive health among youth and adolescents and protecting girls' and women's reproductive health rights, AMșR provides care that is more structured, accessible and centered on their needs.
